On October 16, 2025, the Bersinergi Institute team had the privilege of meeting with Islamic scholars in Cirebon, West Java. Our discussion centered on how religious texts inform narratives and how these narratives can support digital literacy education in Islamic schools.
This initiative is part of the Bersinergi Institute’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the resilience of students and educators through digital literacy education, which includes a clear understanding of generative AI. 🎬 Film Screening & Discussion at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung
On 15 May 2025, Bersinergi Institute held a screening and discussion of its debut film Hijrah Digital at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung—an important milestone for the newly established Institute.
The film tells the inspiring story of a woman Islamic teacher (ustadzah) in a West Java pesantren (Islamic boarding school) who makes a hijrah—a personal and spiritual transformation—from digital illiteracy to digital literacy. Her journey empowers not only herself but also strengthens resilience in her community.
More than a documentary, Hijrah Digital is part of Bersinergi Institute’s strategic communication approach—leveraging storytelling to promote inclusive digital literacy and counter disinformation in vulnerable communities.
We were honored to have three esteemed scholars—Prof. Taufiq Rahman, Prof. Yeni Huriyani, and Prof. Dindin Solahudin—share their reflections on the film and its relevance in today’s digital and social landscape.
